Titusville is a town on the Indian River located to the west of Merritt Island and the Kennedy Space Centre.
Space View Park, on the Indian River, is directly west of Launch Complex 39 at the Kennedy Space Centre. It provided the closest public location to watch Space Shuttle launches when that program was active.
It can also provide a location to view Atlas (LC 41), Delta (LC37B) and Falcon 9 (LC40) launches but is significantly farther away from the pads (around 13 miles) than some other viewing locations.
Its proximity to KSC means that it has emphasised its connection to the Space program with the creation of the US Space Walk of Fame is an outdoor plaza on the Indian River in Titusville, Florida, honouring both the astronauts and the NASA and contractor personnel who made American manned space exploration possible. Its monuments surrounding a pool are dedicated to the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs, with a Space Shuttle monument planned. A nearby museum houses related exhibits and artefacts.
