Fairbanks to Anchorage

Leaving Fairbanks I drove south to Anchorage along Highway 3 which is the western route (and is about 350 miles long).

There is not a whole lot to see along the way except mountains, show and trees.  Below are some photographs I took of all three along the way - note the threatening skies and “frozen waste” look of the mountains.

I was really glad to get to the bright lights of Anchorage after about six hours of this (though there are a few small towns on the way).  Amazingly it didn’t actually snow while I was on the road.
