My trip to Australia was mostly spent in the Sydney area with a couple of trips to surrounding areas where there were sites of interest.

I stayed in the Great Southern Hotel on George Street which is a renovated 1930s hotel close to the Central Station, Paddy’s Market, the Powerhouse Museum and transport links (bus, Monorail, light rail).

I found getting around Sydney very easy once I got used to the idea that nearly all buses require the ticket to be purchased before boarding.  I was very convenient for the free shuttle from Central Station to Circular Quay, I could get on while it was fairly empty - by the time it got to the second stop on George Street it was packed.  I found I could also get a train from Circular Quay to Central Station, this was extremely handy when there was a downpour one afternoon.

The weather was very strange given I was there in the middle of summer, there were regular rain storms, some days were quite cloudy and while it was warm it was not uncomfortably hot.  My photographs show how the weather changed from day to day.
