As part of my visit to Cape Canaveral to watch the Shuttle Atlantis launch as Mission STS-125 I took the opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Centre Visitors Centre.

The indoor “displays” were a bit too Disneyland for my taste (with almost a complete lack of real hardware) but the Rocket Garden is interesting with a variety of items from the early days up to the Space Shuttle.  The Saturn 5 that was in the Rocket Garden has been restored and is now housed in a purpose built building, the Apollo/Saturn V Centre, that protects it from the elements (it is a short bus ride from the Visitor Centre).
