Pearl Harbour is a lagoon harbour on the island of Oahu, Hawaii to the west of Honolulu. Much of the harbour and surrounding lands is a United States Navy deep-water naval base and it is the headquarters of the United States Pacific Fleet.
Ford Island is located in the middle of Pearl Harbour, Hawaii and houses several naval facilities so access is restricted. Battleship Row is on the east side of Ford Island and was the location of the attack in December 1941.
As well as the active military there are a number of memorials and museums in the Pearl Harbour / Ford Island area. I visited the following:
- The USS Arizona Memorial
- The USS Missouri
- The Pacific Aviation Museum
- The Submarine Museum
The following pages cover each of these locations.
